| The Samithy started its activities
in 1925 as Malayala Kraisthava Sahithya Samithy(MCLC)The leaders
of the Samithy then where Arch Daeken.T.G Stewart Smith (CMS)
Rev. W.Mathew (LMS) Mr.P.O.Philip (Marthoma) and Mr.K.K.Kuruvilla
(Marthoma). In 1952 CLS authorized MCLC as its authorized branch
in Kerala. Thus from 1952 onwards the bookshop of MCLC at Thiruvalla
started functioning as CLS bookshop. Even when it was functioning
as a branch it had all autonomous power of administration. |

| In March 1994 with the support of
many prominent Dioceses of Kerala,the publishing group that
worked as the branch of CLS was transformed in to Thiruvalla
Kraisthava Sahitya Samithy and CSS Book Shop. |
